These exemptions are similar to the common-law Fair Use doctrine in that they allow reproduction for personal use, citation in other works, and public educational purposes. If you share our content under these provisions, please reference the source in the form of a link or citation.

No AI scraping: Under no circumstances may any of our copyrighted material be used to train large language models or other artificial intelligence systems without our express prior consent in writing. We do NOT consider AI training data to fall under UrhG Section 6 §§ 44a–63a; likewise, we do NOT believe that the Fair Use doctrine or any comparable regimes allow for nonconsensual scraping of proprietary data at any scale that exceeds individual noncommercial use. German case law has already begun to establish precedents that support this view. Our prohibition on AI scraping extends to our copyrighted content on the website, social media, and in our books and other published works.
